Hi, I'm Bruno.
I build ▍
I'm a senior software engineer on Kilo, Anaconda's open source AI coding agent.
// 01: ABOUT
Why I care about how agents feel
I work on Kilo at Anaconda: an open source coding agent that lives in your IDE, CLI, and cloud. My beat is the interaction itself: what the agent can do, how it asks, and how it earns another chance after a mistake.
I got here sideways. I spent years on space software where a bug could end a mission, then on Python platforms used by millions. Both taught me the same lesson: the tool is the easy part, the trust is the product.
How I judge agents
I ask three things: does it behave the same way twice, can I see why it did that, and is it cheap to correct.
How I build tools
I work on Kilo across IDEs, CLI and cloud, and I sweat the loop: latency, interruptions, and staying in flow.
Where I come from
I spent years on Python platforms at Anaconda, including local AI that keeps your data on your machine, and before that on software that went to orbit.
How I stay sharp
I'm doing an M.Sc. in Statistics and Data Science so the theory behind my tools isn't a black box to me.
Education
M.Sc. Statistics and Data Science
UHasselt · 2022 to 2027
I wanted the maths behind my tools, not just the APIs.
B.Sc. Physics
Universidade de Coimbra · 2015
My origin story: physics → space → agents.
Space roots
European Space Agency · Frankfurt
My first real system was a ground segment monitor I designed and built alone. Python daemons on locked down machines, a Flask API, a live dashboard, and email alerts when metrics went red.
- I later validated onboard software for the EDRS C relay satellite before launch
- Failure was not an option. That stuck with me
// 02: EXPERIENCE
A decade of shipping under pressure
I ship the agent itself: new modes, new capabilities, and the feel of using Kilo every day.
I built full stack features for Notebooks and Desktop, and I owned the JupyterLab plugin architecture.
I shipped operational web tools for ESA and EUMETSAT missions. Two are still in daily use.
Software Engineer and Manager
Trip4Share · GdańskJul 2018 to Dec 2019I owned a marketplace backend solo: API, data layer, infra, deploys, and 3am pages.
I tested satellite software that couldn't fail, and I built the monitoring I wished I had.
